Key ingredients

Eucalyptus oil

Eucalyptus oil has been used since the 1940s and is one of the more widely recognised natural repellents. It has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an effective ingredient for repelling biting insects, including mosquitoes.

Citronella

Citronella is a well-known and effective essential oil commonly used in mosquito repellents and repellent candles. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies citronella as a biopesticide with a non-toxic mode of action.

Neem oil

Neem oil is a natural alternative to synthetic pesticides. It works by interfering with the hormone system of insects, reducing their ability to feed, grow, and lay eggs.

Studies referenced by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have shown that 2% neem oil, when mixed with other essential oils and applied to exposed skin, has provided complete protection for up to 12 hours against certain insect and mosquito species.
